"...truly a pleasure in all respects."

Working with Cathy Scott, owner of Haw Thicket Custom Framing, is truly a pleasure in all respects.  My first experience with Cathy was for the reframing of our local historical society's most prized document, the land grant patent from 1817 for the property on which our Walker-Ewing Log House sits.  Cathy thoroughly educated me on the selection of archival and museum conservation quality materials and executed the framing with the highest level of attention to details.

More recently Cathy framed two different water lily photographs that I took which my sister requested, one for herself and one to give as a gift.  The results were beautiful.  Cathy also framed a challenging piece, a section of unique kitchen floor linoleum from 1930 which was saved from my father's house before it was sold in 2010.  This linoleum with hand-carved geometrical inlays brings back vivid memories for me of having grown up in this house.  Cathy preserved it in the best way imaginable while leaving the linoleum surface accessible.   As a result I can hang this on the wall and enjoy it instead of leaving this packed away in a drawer where no one would see it.

"She pleases even the most critical art directors..."

We’ve been using Haw Thicket for all our framing for several years now.  We’re often asked to frame our creative work for clients, among whom are Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Zippo and Consol Energy. Cathy is great to work with, helping us navigate through the numerous options for mattes and frames – all we need to do is send her our prints and she shows us several perfect options that look great and really help showcase our work.  She pleases even the most critical art directors, and always comes through even when we need things framed under a very tight turnaround. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs her services.

"her breadth of experience..."

We wanted to make an artistic statement with a collection of mid-century prints, but the choices for frames, mats, and glass can be overwhelming. Cathy guided us through the process, using her breadth of experience to offer advice, and demonstrate possibilities. The prints look amazing! The quality of her craft, as well as her impeccable service will bring us back to Haw Thicket for future framing, and has earned Cathy our enthusiastic

"Every challenge was met with consideration of our budget."

For the last ten years Cathy has framed the selections of student artwork as part of our permanent collection. Every challenge, from color matching to shadow box making, was met with consideration of our budget. Both her professional and personal touch has made the halls of our buildings an “art gallery” to be enjoyed now and for the future.

I love the work you do for us. So glad to always do business with you.

Once again, your craftsmanship has delighted friends and family! Our vacation photos were perfectly accented by your framing and have found prominent spots for display. These will be treasured mementos for years to come. We always get such wonderful comments on our "art gallery" featuring all the girls' work over the years - an unusual combination of projects! Your skill, creativity and professionalism are deeply appreciated and we always look forward to working with you again!
